There are several factors to consider in determining which Turnstyle Gate Mounting System™ (GMS™) is right for you. Follow these 7 simple steps below to select the correct GMS™:

Step 1: Choose the right mode of operation.

Automatic or Manual?

• If you want your gate to open automatically by a wireless remote-choose the automatic system.

• If you want to manually open your gate - choose the manual system.

Step 2: Choose the right mounting configurations.

Pillar Mount or Ground Mount?

• If your gate will be attached to a pillar or post - choose the pillar mount.

• If your gate will be free standing (not attached to a pillar or post) - choose the ground mount. (view options)

• If your gate is greater than 100lbs or greater than 8ft in length - choose the pillar mount.

Single Gate or Dual Gate?

• If you need a GMS™ operator to open one gate-choose the single gate system.

• If you need a GMS™ operator to open two gates together simultaneously-choose the dual gate system.

Step 3: Choose the right GMS™.

GMS™: Steel, Aluminum or Vinyl?

• The material used in the construction of your gate will determine which type of GMS™ operator and gate mounting brackets you will need.

• If your gate >250lbs you need a steel GMS™.

• Use the chart below to determine the right GMS™ and gate mounting brackets needed based on your gate’s construction material and weight.

Operator Shape: Square or D-Shaped?

• The D-shaped operator was created to eliminate pinch points, making this shaped operator preferable if your operator will be placed close to a pillar or a post.

• Steel operators are available in 3” square profiles (4” for commercial grade).

• Aluminum operators are available in 3 1/2” square and D-shaped profiles.

• Vinyl operators are available in 3 1/2” square and D-shaped profiles.


Step 4: Choose the Right Color.

• The Turnstyle GMS™ is available in 6 complementary colors Chart colors are not exact representation. Please refer to the Pantone codes or call for a free color sample chart.

• Custom colors are available.

• Vinyl available in white only.


Step 5: Choose the right GMS™ Operator Height.

4 ft, 5 ft or 6 ft?

• The Pillar Mount Turnstyle GMS™ operator is available in three convenient heights: 4ft, 5ft and 6ft

• Choose the operator height that most closely corresponds with the height of your gate’s mounting end.

• Custom heights are available.

• The standard height of the ground mount Turnstyle GMS™ operator is 41 1/2”.


 

Step 6: Choose the right GMS™ Power Level.

Light Duty, Heavy Duty or Commercial Grade?

• The Automatic Turnstyle GMS™ can accommodate any gate weighing up to1500lbs and/or 12ft in length.

• We also manufacture larger, custom openers for heavier/larger gates. Please call for details.

• Our gate operators are available in 3 different power levels:

Light Duty

• For gates weighing <175 lbs and <6ft in length

• Perfect for small, light weight passage gates

Heavy Duty

• For gates weighing <400lb and/or <8-12ft in length

• Ideal for most residential and agricultural gates

Commercial Grade

• For gates weighing between 500 and 1500lbs and/or up to 12ft in length

• Powered to move heavier gates or gates requiring constant openings (i.e. multi-family communities, plant entrances)

• The following chart will help you determine the right GMSTM power level needed based on your gate’s length and weight.



Step 7: Choose the right Gate Mounting Brackets.

Brackets: Tube, Wood or Unicorn?

 

• The material used in the construction of your gate will determine which type of gate mounting brackets you will need.

• Use the chart below to determine the right gate mounting brackets needed based on your gate’s construction material.

• Gate mounting brackets are included in all non-integrated Turnstyle Gate Mounting System™packages.

• Custom brackets are available. Please contact our office for details.
